Inspector Willie Taylor says the all-girl brawl demonstrated why alcohol cannot be handled by young people
There was a massive clash between dozens of teenage girls in Auckland in an alcohol-fuelled brawl yesterday afternoon.
Up to 70 schoolgirls had to be dispersed in Mission Bay Reserve after school break-up socialising turned into a drinking binge and brawl.
Inspector Willie Taylor says more than five police patrols were called-in to disperse the crowd and one arrest was made for disorderly behaviour.
Inspector Taylor says the fighting was petty and immature.
He also says the girls were simply demonstrating why alcohol cannot be handled by young people.
